I have recently found a free online tool to keep track of my link building.
Having a back-link update checker is a good way to have a quality control on your link building.
A regular back-link tool lists all the domains / web pages that links to your domain name, but to get a regular update of your link status the free link tracker pro tool is better. If you trade links, its a must to have a tool to control if your partners are cheating you.. Today link trading are not effective, but still its a good idea to keep track of the links.
If you use do-follow commenting, the tool can help you see witch comments that are accepted and witch is not. The tool will show how your comments are doing, this can save you a lot of time compared to track down each post. By tracking the status, you can find what works and what don't on your link building.
Here is a guide to start using the free Backlink Tracker Pro tool.
Register a new Gmail(or other) mail account.
-The tool works by sending updates to your mail. I recommend to have a account only to receive this updates.
Register at http://www.webconfs.com/linktracker/
(free) It is really a easy and painless registering
Paste your site url. Remember to use the .com instead of the http version.
Paste the sites you want to track Her you paste the url(http version) of the pages you want to track for inbound links to your site.
Login to mail and check status.
Now its only to log-in to your new mail account every time you will check how your link building is going.. The tool will show you links that are do-follow, no-follow and removed.
The reason I prefer using a Gmail account is that it is very easy to implement Gmail accounts into Firebird.
Using Firebird you can mange many Gmail accounts in a easy way without log-in in to the online gmail account. This can be a great time saver, and a nice way to keep your work organized.
